New Version of Chatroulette, Coming Today

, Mon, Aug 23, 2010

Chatroulette, the service in which people randomly meet over video/audio is currently down. The site currently displays text which can be seen above, it reads “The experiment #1 is over now. Thanks for participating.” You may or may not know, but Sean Parker, founder of Napster and founding president of Facebook was working alongside Andrey Ternovskiy to attempt to figure out solutions to ongoing problems which Chatroulette face.

We expect as Chatroulette have stated, a new version will be released today. If Parker has had his way, many changes to come, especially as the service started to lose popularity from when it first started – the service even created internet celebrities such as Merton the piano player.

Chatroulette, started hiring staff just before the service closed, at no point do we feel the service is closing for good, only an upgrade as stated.

A “G Rated” Chat Roulette? That will go over big. Much like did Radio Disney, the Pontiac Aztec and the camera-less iPad.
