Somewhere back in September, Samsung has announced its Galaxy S II HD LTE for Korea and then this very month AT&T also announced the Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD for the US. Now, it looks like a variation of the two is going to be hitting UK shelves pretty soon. MoDaCo apparently got a hold of some images showcasing the phone and posted them online. The smartphone is sporting a 4.56-inch 1280×720 screen Super AMOLED Plus, with a HD display that will certainly be deeply enjoyed by mobile users.
In addition to the HD display we are hearing rumors of the device having a bigger screen (4.65-inches), a NFC chip and a longer batter life (1850 mAh’s). However, there are no official details about the UK launch until now. Other specifications include a dual core 1.5GHZ processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. An 8 megapixel is likely, and a 16GB build in storage plus a microSD card slot, plus 802.11 b/g/n WiFI plus Bluetooth 3.0.
However, the company who is supposed to be bringing the Galaxy S II HD to the UK – MobCity, is apparently working so it could do the same for Australia. Over there, the smartphone is listed in the company’s index and appears to be in stock. The price has been set at AU$ 749 – basically $773 USD. So, right now it is a bit unclear whether or not the Galaxy S II HD will arrive on English territory, or even if it will be officially announced before the Mobile World Conference in February, where Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S III. MobCity has removed all information from its British site about the phone, so we’ll just have to wait.
