Apple aims to manufacture the new iPhone 12 series locally in India, according to media sources. Around mid-20201, a customer survey predicts the revolutionary model ‘Made in India’ for the awaited yet delayed iPhone 12 series to be available for sale.
The plant in Bengaluru at Narasapura is set to commence development. Apple’s Taiwanese contract maker, Wistron, is located at the current factory. The projected expenditure in system fabrication is Rs 2 900 crore, as it is estimated that the Taiwanese firm hires up to 10,000 workers. The production will begin by October 2020. About 1,000 people have already begun research on the latest project.
Not the first plant of Apple in India. The iPhone 11, iPhone XR, was manufactured recently in Foxconn’s factory in Chennai by Apple and the manufacturing of its mid-range iPhone SE 2020 is scheduled to commence by the end of the year 2020. In the list of the ‘made in India’ iPhones, iPhone 12 will be the new entry. This will help to slash the costs of the new iPhone 12 series, with Apple missing 22%. It also means that Apple will put its phone strategically into a more affordable price range, which may give rise to a major boost to the market share of the Cupertino giant in India.
Nevertheless, Apple can no longer reduce iPhone costs because it is a step to shift China’s manufacturing and assembly base. In India, this may also help increase sales of premium Smartphones, because of China’s rising anti-China sentiment. In the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic, Apple’s iPhone 12 series launch has been postponed. Apple’s CFO Luca Maestri has stated that the initial production period is estimated to be several weeks. On the other side, YouTuber and leakster John Prosser indicated that on October 12, Apple could announce its new operating system version, iOS 12.
As a measure, Apple plans to introduce up to four different iPhones including the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Lcd, the newest A14 Bionic Processor, and 5 G connectivity are included in all the hardware. The low-end iPhone models should be RAM 4 GB, while the high-end specs are RAM 6 GB. On the front of the camera, there are two sensors on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max maybe three on the line-up as of the previous year.
