Dell’s new Android 2.2-running Streak 7 tablet is now officially on sale in the UK for £300. With the Streak 5′s success last year, it seems an obvious path for Dell to release a larger, more feature-packed device, whilst keeping the price down. With their current price point being so low, they are hoping to grab a piece of the market from their biggest competitors, including the BlackBerry PlayBook and HTC Flyer.
The 7-inch model of the Streak now comes with two cameras — a front facing camera for video calls, and a rear camera with a 5MP sensor, auto-focus and an LED flash. It also comes with a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 16GB of built-in storage with an SD card slot capable of up to 32GB extra and a WVGA screen with a resolution of 800×480.
Despite the Streak 7 running only the 2.2 version of Android, Froyo, Dell promises that it is capable of over-the-air wireless updates that will be pushed out in the near future. And the device is sporting a heavily modified UI theme named Stage, which Dell has also said to expect many feature upgrades to the UI in the future.
