Elonex Launches Competitively Priced eTouch Android Tablets

Elonex has now officially released and shown off their new range of eTouch Android 2.2 tablets – coming in a variety of competitive price points and sizes. There are two 7″ models – the 760ET which sports a resistive touchscreen at just £119, and the 702ET which has the same features as the 760ET, but with a price increase up to £179 in exchange for a capacitive touchscreen.

There are also four different 10″ eTouch models: the 1000ET, which has a resistive touchscreen and costs £149; however we would shy away from this model, having some hands-on time with it, we found it’s just a bit too chunky and heavy for casual everyday use. However, there are three other 10″ models that are the same in aesthetics – a much slimmer and lighter design and running on the ARM A8 chip, but with a variation of specs – the 1040ET has a capacitive touchscreen at £229, with a 3G version of the model dubbed 1043ET priced at £279. There is also a “progressive” touchscreen model priced at £189, which is claimed to be a combination of a capacitive and a resistive touchscreen – we’ll be taking a better look at the model today at the Gadget Show Live, so make sure to check back soon.
