lg-double-play-android-smartphone-with-two-displays

In a highly differentiated area of Android smartphones, LG manages to bring a device with a twist. The most intriguing feature of LG’s DoublePlay is a concealed at a first glance but after the second panel is unfold it reveals a spilt keyboard with a small display in the middle. The unique dual screen design has already attracted good reviews for the LG’s newest smartphone that will be put on the market under T-Mobile contract.

LG Double Play will be running on Android Gingerbread (2.3.4) and T-Mobile’s comment on the reason for which the smartphone doesn’t benefit from the latest Android released last month and known as Ice Cream Sandwich, platform was rather evasive. “We are actively working with OEM partners to ensure that a number of eligible T-Mobile devices are upgraded to Android 4.0 in the coming months.”, the T-Mobile official stated.

Advertised as another world phone, DualPlay has a large range of connectivity options as it is a quad-band GSM world phone (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) with dual-band 4G UMTS/HSPA+ (Bands I and IV). When it comes to battery life span, DualPlay offers 3.3 hours of talk time and 11 days of standby time.

The displays that make DoublePlay unique give more convenience to the use and make it a good device for both work and play. However, considered separately, the screens are not impressive with their technical specifications. The main screen has 3.5 inches and a resolution of 480 pixels by 320 pixels while the second display has 2 inches and a resolution of 320 pixels by 240 pixels. What makes them powerful is the way they work together. The second display shows icons for the apps as Web browser, Calendar messaging, and other. The main information is displayed on the main screen while the secondary details are viewed on the smaller screen.
