Noble’s Tablet to Hit the Market on November 7th, Specs Leaked

Barnes & Noble will introduce a new presence on the e-reader and tablet market in mid-November; the Nook Tablet, according to leaked information. Apparently, the price tag for Nook Tablet will be $249.

The rumors point further more that the other Nook e-readers will see a price slashing following the new release: Nook Color’s price will drop from $249 to $199, and Nook Simple Touch’s new price will be $99, dropping from $139.

Analysts expect the announcement to be made at a Barnes & Noble press conference in New York, on November 7. According to a leaked slide presentation published on Engadget, the Nook Tablet will have a 7-inch IPS color touch screen with a 1024×600 pixel resolution. Other specs include a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD expansion slot.

The new Nook model is expected to feature some software updates and also to offer users a wider selection of titles with “over 2 million books, magazines and newspapers”. In addition, the Nook Tablet will be advertised since the very beginning as an useful tool in entertainment, with access to music services as Rhapsody, Grooveshark, Pandora and MOG.

There are also presentations that suggest that Nook Tablet will be a learning tool for children as the presentation describes Barnes & Noble’s newest Nook as “best kids reading experience” and having “the largest collection of popular children’s books plus exclusive interactive children’s books.”

According to the leaked information, the Nook Tablet will be announced on the November 7th, and in the same day will be available for pre-order. On November 16th, Nook Tablet will be shipped to customers.
