Those who watch live BBC programmes are very unlikely to be caught for cheating the license system, until today. Coming out today is the official BBC iPlayer iPad
and Android App, which the Telegraph have pointed out will now allow them to track who’s watching their programmes.
Until today people have been able to free watch without the fear of being caught, the BBC obviously didn’t make that clear, the technology they have been using has only been tracking those that use television signals, which isn’t the iPad. It would appear that the BBC aren’t too bothered about non-license payers using their portable devices as they are planning no strategy of password implemention or entering your date, you simply log-in and away you go.
Attention university and college students of the UK, rather than paying a licence fee, get yourself an iPad.
