US Homeland Security to Use Twitter ,Facebook for Terrorist Alerts ,Threats

April 27th will the inception of something impressive — terrorist alerts and threats will now be posted on Twitter and Facebook. The five tier, colour coded system will be no more.

The five tier system was originially implemented as part of the Homeland Security Advisory System in 2001. Two levels will now be in existence — “Elevated” and “Imminent” – they both speak for them selves and in which order is the priority. The messages via Twitter and Facebook will only become available once federal, state and local officials have been notified and not until then.

A good idea? I think so, many of us and when I say that I mean the mass majority of us use one if not both social networks for a long period of the day – we are always connected to at least one of them via a smartphone, tablet or laptop/PC.
